Chelsea Manning shows up in the September issue of Vogue magazine looking exquisite and gleaming in a red bathing suit on the beach with the breeze in her hair and a grin all over.
In a tweet Thursday morning sharing the photograph shot by Annie Leibovitz, the transgender lobbyist stated, “Figure this is the thing that opportunity resembles.”
The previous Army intelligence examiner was 35 years in jail for releasing more than 700,000 arranged government reports. She was discharged back in May following seven years in jail after previous President Barack Obama drove her sentence.
“I will likely utilize these next to a half year to make sense of where I need to go,” she told Vogue. “I have these qualities that I can associate with: obligation, empathy. Those are truly foundational for me. Do and say and be your identity because, regardless of what happens, you are cherished genuinely. Unequivocal love. It is OK to be my identity.”
