The teenagers’ darling, actress Kristen Stewart of Twilight fame, donned her regular rock chic, edgy type of outfit at the awards gala—a wise choice, since the Teen Choice Awards are all about fun and personality, and not necessarily as dressy and posh as other awards ceremonies. She paired her long, flowing chestnut mane with a white flowing top, a very daring Roberto Cavalli patterned blazer, and second-skin leather pants. To accessorize, the grungy celeb went for an off-beat sterling silver ring, worn on her right-hand thumb, plus some youthful, skinny leather bracelets around her wrists. Throughout his years in the limelight, Sir Elton John has patented a few look choices which have become almost as recognizable as Candle in the Wind and some other famous compositions of his. Naturally, at the event he was sporting his trademark tousled-up blond hair, a pair of glasses with a thick, black rim—as well as sterling silver diamond stud earrings.

Since we’re talking about a Country and Western music event, held in Tennessee no less, it is only fitting that female crooner Carrie Underwood came to the event decked out in a top with the United States of America star-spangled banner. As an aside, this fashion trend has been sweeping the red carpet since early summer, long before July 4th celebrations warranted such style choices (Katy Perry literally wore the flag, draped around her lovely figure as a satin, one-off asymmetric dress to the debut event of Fleet Week). Underwood, on the other hand, accessorized her daring Haute Hippie Laura sleeveless top with a layered necklace in sterling silver, with a clover motif—thus managing to work two national symbols into a single outfit!
