We are close to that time of the year and we don’t mean Christmas, we are talking about something far more iconic and sexier and that is Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2017. The glitter runway is said to excite us and leave us in a ball of envy on November 28th.
The CBS broadcast will show the usual pink-carpet interviews, model profiles and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show, as well as the runway presentation of brand-new winged creations and of course the lingerie.
This year the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is going high fashion and is partnering with Balmain. #VSxBalmain tie-up will mark the first time the brand has partnered with a fashion house on an in-store collection.
The tie-up is a natural fit, as there’s plenty of crossover between Rousteing’s Balmain Army – the gang of girls who religiously star in his campaigns – and the models Victoria’s Secret calls upon to bring star factor to its runways.
Last year the Angels jetted to Paris, and previous shows have taken place in New York, London, Los Angeles, Miami, and Cannes. 2017 is going to see Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show tapping into its growing Chinese market and staging the event in Shanghai.
We won’t get the classic “pink” private jet selfies from our angels this year since everyone is requested to travel on their own due to the distance of the set.
The show will be watched in over 190 countries – last year it received 1.4 billion views and more than 150 billion media impressions worldwide.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2017 models include Angel Candice Swanepoel. who will make her return to the famous winged runway after taking a year’s hiatus to have her first child.
The new mother, who was snapped up by Victoria’s Secret in 2007, was crowned as an official Angel in 2010 and honored with wearing the $10 million fantasy bra in the 2013 show. Other familiar faces will be spotted such as angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge, Elsa Hosk, Jasmine Tookes, Josephine Skriver, Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, Stella Maxwell and Taylor Hill.
A host of new faces, including Grace Bol, Vanessa Moody, and Dasha Khlystun, will also join regular models who have walked for the lingerie giant before but have yet to be granted Angel status.
Though it was announced in August that Behati Prinsloo will return to the runway the model took to Instagram in September to tell fans that she is expecting her second child with husband Adam Levine. “I promised Behati I wouldn’t say a word until she did,” senior creative at Victoria’s Secret, Ed Razek, commented via his own social media. “Bee, I kept my promise! We will miss you in Shanghai! Love you and very happy for you, Adam and Dusty!”
Another notable face that won’t be walking the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is Kendall Jenner, the supermodel was thrilled to be part of the brand’s previous shows exclaiming that “it’s always been a dream of mine” but ever since she became the ambassador for Italian lingerie brand La Perla, it is thought that it would be a conflict of interest for her to support Victoria Secret’s as well.
Her BFFs Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid will be walking down the runway.
